About Tim McHyde / EscapeAllTheseThings.com

About EscapeAllTheseThings.com, its radical author, Tim McHyde

About Tim (Tim McHyde died in January 2022)

Since starting his first Bible prophecy website in 1999, Tim McHyde has written hundreds of articles and answered over 50,000 reader Bible questions. By following Jesus' own literal interpretation approach to interpreting Scripture (John 10:35), he has explained hard, overlooked passages, such as the "Wormwood" mystery at the center of the Book of Revelation (Rev 8:11) and Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Tim's book Know the Future uses this same literal approach to lay out the entire end-time roadmap ahead. Like the website articles, it has brought comfort to thousands of readers who were previously scared or confused by Bible prophecy (or, more often, the rampant Christian speculation over it).

His Supporter Studies share his latest research on Jesus' difficult words. They are the basis for his next book (for free) for Christians who realize that there is something big missing in their life that Christianity never taught them. (Hint: understanding what Jesus said to do as your "Lord" and training on how to do it per Luke 6:46).

Tim retired from programming Bible software in 2008 to work full-time in ministry—starting with his own family. He currently lives in Germany. He moved there in 2015 after 16 years of living in Costa Rica. Living overseas like missionaries in diverse cultures has been a challenging call of God to answer, but so instrumental to his spiritual growth.

EscapeAllThingsThings.com Purpose

The reason I began EscapeAllTheseThings.com was at first to share the exciting things I was learning from my studies on end time Bible prophecy. I was confused and dissatisfied with the popular Christian explanations on prophetic passages. They hardly ever stood up to scrutiny when I checked them as a Berean (Acts 17:11) against literal Scripture (Acts 17:11; John 10:35).

Although I never intended to be a writer, I was led to write articles on my discoveries to help other believers who kept asking me the same questions I had. Sharing an article link is easier than writing yet another email to answer the same question. These website articles are what curried so many questions from readers. Answering emails takes a lot of time, but it benefited me as well by allowing me to see things I never would have seen, such as how Christianity has failed believers by leaving them to struggle with major issues and questions even after years of sermons.

Religions like Christianity are good at telling people what to believe. They have their creeds, doctrinal statements, and theologies. But most served by religion are left confused and wondering, "What does God want?" In other words, never mind what we have been told to believe about God on Sunday, what does he really want us to do—according to the Bible, not religious leaders?

That's the fundamental question behind all the research I do and share here at EscapeAllTheseThings.com. To do so I depart from typical allegorical or symbolic interpretations and instead use literal interpretation and good, rational thinking to arrive at the best explanation.

Thus, this site is not only a Bible prophecy site but about all of God's word and will. For me, being able to answer what God wants required first understanding the whole Bible, starting with the difficult writings of the prophets. I'm here to help you understand that part, too, as well as the big question of what God wants.

Our "Statement of Faith"

In this space Christian ministries typically share espoused doctrines and beliefs that have nothing to do with their daily life or practical decisions; in other words, a lot of head knowledge (which Christians do not agree on, anyway). Sound familiar?

This standard definition of faith results in "believers" with some theology but sadly no lasting "fruits of repentance" (Mt 3:8) or progress towards becoming like Jesus as the faith actually requires (Jn 13:35; 1Jn 2:6; 1Co 11:1; 1Pt 2:21; Eph 5:1-2). In the scariest passage in the Bible, Jesus highlighted this problem when he said he will reject believers with cheap, counterfeit faith like that at his return (Lk 6:46; Mt 7:23). Yes, that's most Christians. It's not surprising when you consider that 95% of Christians surveyed admit they have not read the whole Bible. This forces them to trust and hope that their religion "coming in Jesus' name" (Mt 24:5) is not deceiving them, something Jesus expressly warned would happen (Mt 24:4).

Jesus' description of faith was not based on explaining the Bible "right" or even having a Bible (which most saints in history have not had), but on believing and doing God's Word/will (Lk 8:21=Mt 12:50):

  • "God is good/love and rewards those who diligently seek him" (1Jn 4:8; Mk 10:18; Heb 11:6; Gen 15:6) by "loving their neighbor as themselves" in faith, just as Jesus trained his disciples to do  (John 13:35).

The statement above sums up the walk of all saints of all times whether they heard of Jesus or had a Bible or not. If Christians really believed Jesus and focused on the above truth of God's Word (instead of doing what religion says to focus on), they would be doing Jesus' law (Gal 6:2) as Lord (Lk 6:46) by leading a love and faith revolution in the world like the original church did in Jerusalem (Acts 2:42-47; Acts 5:13).

What About You?

Do you find this site and "statement of faith" refreshingly different?

Have you already found comfort and help from the free articles and feel gratitude you wish to act on scripturally (Gal 6:6)?

Have you already felt "something was missing" in your Christian walk but could not put your finger on it?

If any of the above fits you then check out the available supporter studies which delve deeply into understanding the difficult words of Jesus and how to do them.

By joining the Support Team today you will get the help and direction you need now and will help many others receive it later with the free release of Tim next book based on these studies.

Few people could understand the prophecy of the woman in a basket in Zechariah 5:5-11
Time to spend some time on this prophecy

Tim: I followed you on FB. Left there when they began their persecution. Now, I come here from time to time.
What is a watchman? Really? One who watches and sounds the alarm. Based on What? What he sees. Sometimes it is the voice of God Loudly proclaiming in your ear/mind. sometimes it is what you see.
So let you tell you what I see. The AC is alive right now. Many of us have seen him and know not who he is.
None of us know as of this point.
A Watchman is not a seer. Let me tell you what I have seen.
When one morning in worship [shortly before Obama took office the first time] I took the loaf and cup in a large church. I took the loaf and all was well while I prayed. I took the cup, drank the wine and nearly threw up. It was so rancid. I asked my wife what she tasted, and she replied it was fine. I went back to prayer and a very loud voice declared to me “They have turned my blood bitter”. We did escape all those things….
Speaking of the church and so many who think themselves important in Gods kingdom.
If you say you are not a watchman, but you watch, what does that make you?
Or are you really watching. Please look in your comments section on one of your pages and you will find anger, hatred and profanity. are you watching?

David, there is anger, hatred, and profanity in the Bible. Sorry if people being real bothers you, but I try not to censor. Anyway, this also has nothing to do with the Biblical watchman appointed by God and accountable to God for not warning when danger is seen. That’s not me or probably a single person today…yet.

Joel chapters are Gods punishment on those who took the mark.

There is no rapture. The original plan for Adam & Eve to turn the earth into paradise.
Yahshua bought back that plan. I’m truly amazed how many people are so blind as God said they will be blind.

There are 3 heavens no man has but Yahshua has returned to the 3rd heaven no man has been there.

In Luke 17:36 Lot’s wife is used to show the people what happened to Lot’s wife is going to happen again when the second coming happens. Two men two women then 1 will be taken ( destroyed) like Lot’s wife. The reader should understand that’s why her name is mentioned to set the stage for what is coming.

    * See, Luke 17:32 ( Remember Lot’s wife)

    * See, 17:37 ( where Lord are they going)

32 Remember Lot’s wife. 33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”

37 And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?”

So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

Lots wife loved her life in that city she turned to look back at the destruction she was destroyed.

That’s where Luke 17:33 comes into describe Lot’s wife. She desired to save her old life so she was destroyed. Repentance is key to a new life not looking back at the old ways

33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

The last letter that everyone calls Stigma did not exist until about 850 AD, yet many call it that as if it existed in the 3rd-5th century. What existed in the early going for a value of 6 was Digamma ( ? ). Digamma is not found in any early texts for Rev 13:18.

This site explains this and more:

Hello Tim! Haven’t talked to you in a while. I’m back in America for a bit. A lot has been happening worldwide lately. Do you know of NESARA? I think I know who Antichrist will be. You have any clues? Many alleged Christians will wholeheartedly support him, thinking he is a good guy because he is destroying the really evil ones. I wish I had my hard copy of Escape… but it is in Ukraine. You have it online, but I don’t have access to that web address. Not sure when I can get back. Do you get check, being out of country?

Hi your shmita year is wrong. Jesus Christ returns 80 years aftet Israel was reborn, and 2000 years after His dead in 28 ad. So the next shmita year is 7.9.2021 to 25.9.2022 so the year that counts is shmita year 21.9.2028-9.9.2029. Nowhere a shmita year starts in 2024.

Georgas, Jesus’ return has nothing to do with Israel/1948 or 80 years. He returns “two days”/2000 years after his visit to Samaria (John 4:40,43), 30 AD which was not a shmita, but the year after one…which is how 2030 2000 years later can be a shmita.

Hi Tim,

I wish to share a recent experience. On Monday I was teaching a youth group from the Bible, prior to this The Lord led me to focus on the whole letter of James. I was not prepared of the response; All said this: “Why haven’t we heard about this letter before.” Another said this: “I have waited all my life on hearing this, this explains everything. ”

It is my understanding that this letter should have been placed right after Acts, as it gives the most important instructions on how to live a practical life as a follower of Jesus. It is basic teaching. You do not hear this much around in christian congregations. The youth was touched by it because it filled a hole in their understanding of The Message of the Bible.

Dear Tim,

If the “Destruction of Babylon” comes after Wormwood, then we in the U.S. have nothing to worry about until then, correct? It is my understanding from having read your book, and seen your timeline, that if 2026 passes and Wormwood is not happening, we are off the hook until 2033? Also, I still question whether the “Destruction of Babylon” means the whole Country or just DC and NYC.

Douglas, actually I think WW3 and Wormwood are the same day. Russia attacks because the world is ending. Yes, if 2024-2030 is not the 70th week, then Wormwood comes next earliest in 2033. However, don’t bet on it given we now have a fulfilled sign of the end (2Ti 3:1-5).

Daniel’s 70th week is 7 years? That would be 2023-2030 wouldn’t it? I believe Yeshua rode into Jerusalem in 30 AD as their King on a colt like Zechariah 9:9 prophesied and the Messiah fulfilled . That begin GODS timeline of last 2,000 years. He will ride in at the end of the 2,000 years on a White Horse as King of Kings and LORD of LORDS over the earth.

I am a Bible teacher and former pastor (www.pursuingtheword.com) and I found your site searching for something. But I am confused – you have no statement of faith and act as if it’s not necessary. However, I find it exceedingly important as I do not know if you believe the Bible is inerrant in it’s original languages, or if you believe in the deity of Christ, etc. I don’t think that is just “head knowledge” and find it a bit cavalier to make such a statement. If we do not based on faith on the Bible and its commands, then we are lost – that is the reason God’s book was given to us. I suggest that you state clearly what you believe so people will know if they can trust your teaching. At this point, I have no idea what you really believe. Grace and peace, John Lifflander

John, your comment is predicated on a false premise (so common to modern Christians) that our faith is and “must be” drawn from theology interpreted from a book that saints in most of history had no access to! The typical Christian statement of faith is full of terms and concepts that would be unrecognizable and useless to the heroes of our faith. They did not focus on what people believed (like Christians do) but whether someone feared Yehovah and acted with mercy and justice towards their neighbor for God. My “belief” is that this is the original faith (as I already stated in other words above) and Jesus did not change it. (Just imagine the witness if Christians were trained in and practiced justice and mercy in just their words alone?) If that still sounds cavalier then my research is probably not for you :(.

I agree wholeheartedly, Tim! I have been lead to the same conclusions as my study in Biblical culture and kingship brings a much deeper and richer perspective of HIS expectations than most organized religions. A Hebrew perspective and not Western Greek, like that of our Messiah Yeshua, brings clarity, wisdom, discernment and understanding that I had never experienced before. I received your book nearly 20 yrs ago and would like to know the differences in your revised version. Thank you for your efforts in sharing your research with us! Shalom!

Faith comes from hearing, Hearing from the word of God, as the spirit of God knows God and is God the deep things of God so is the spirit of Man with out the spirit of God thru Jesus Christ is not living in you to give you life and power to live , power to say no to sinfulness, Yes loving God and others is a great life

It sounds as if you do not believe that doctrine is important, nor do you believe that the Word of God is inerrant. Jesus was the Word that became flesh, and Paul tells Timothy (1st Timothy 1:3) to “charge some that they preach no other doctrine.” Since you don’t state what your doctrine is, then how can anyone know what you believe and if it is sound or not? However, we do agree on one thing, your teaching is not for me if you don’t at the very least state what you believe. Practicing justice and mercy, as you state, is the fruit being a Christian, but to be saved. Jesus said we must be born again in John 3:3, but I suppose you think that is not necessary to be a Christian.

John, a reply six months after the post is unusual. True, I don’t think anything is necessary but to do what Jesus said (Lk 6:46) not what Christians or others say, yes?

A born again believer/Christian is saved by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone plus nothing else, ever.
If one has not been born again once and for all, one has not been born again at all.

The statement: ‘if Jesus is not Lord of all, He is not Lord at all’ is false and represents Lordship Salvation, a heresy.

No Lordship Salvation teacher will enter Heaven .
No Lordship Salvation teacher will be raptured.

Only a born again believer/Christian saved by free grace will be raptured/saved, e v e r .

Salvation plus works is what is taught against in Matthew 7: 21
Sinless perfection is heresy and is Lordship Salvation.

If one teaches Lordship Salvation, one is not a born again Christian but only a very sublte counterfeit and will miss the rapture, be lost at death in Sheol Hades and will be judged at the Great White Throne … and will be cast into the searing, eternally scalding, tortuous Lake of Fire …. for eternity.

Only the born again believer via free grace will escape judgement, be taken in the rapture and be in Heaven with the Trinity forever.

Steve, you stated well the position of Christianity and how to be a born-again Christian… but, remember, our goal was never originally to be approved by a religion, but to be “Jesus’ brother”/”in the kingdom.” He said repeatedly to accomplish this that you had to do what he said to produce fruit/good works (Lk 8:21=Lk 6:46=Mt 7:21-23) as did his brother James (Jam 2:17,24) and other NT writers. “Many” Christians (Mt 7:13) like you on the wide path (2 billion(!) Christians) who think they are saved will find out that their Christian requirements fell short (Mt 7:23) of the three requirements in the Bible because they were not among the “few” (not 2 billion, but only a few million) on the narrow path (Mt 7:14). Yes, we’re not saved by works, but you’re also “not saved by faith alone” (James 2:24) as James debunked 2000 year ago. (Rhetorical question: how many times and in how many ways does the Bible have to say “faith alone does not save you” before Christians can see and accept this? Instead of constantly repeating the cherry-picked verses that talk about the role of faith?)

        “1 Corinthians 3:15

But if any person’s work is burned up [by the test], he will suffer the loss [of his reward]; yet he himself will be saved, but only as [one who has barely escaped] through fire.”

Tim, I came upon your web site via looking for more updates on Benjamin Barauch’s book “The Day of the Lord is at hand”. I also just finished J. R. Nyquist’s The New Tactics of Global War, the last of which was very enlightening as to the possible takeover or deconstruction of America as we know it. I am interested in how to understand scripture and prepare for whatever Judgement God is about to bring on not only America but the “Church” in general. He said “Judgement first begins at the ” House of God ” and I realize the first thing I need to do is get my own “House” in order. I would like a copy of your book and need to know if there are any used copies or discounts available at this time. Meanwhile I will continue to read your latest e-mail updates and pray for Holy Spirit wisdom for us all!

Greetings, Tim: Checking out your thoughts as word came to me from Messianic Bible Society from Israel of the try-outs of ‘animal sacrifices’ inaugurated last week (possibly Wednesday). Apparently the cohen (priests) had some of the original instruments and utensils salvaged from the previous Temple. And with this finding, much either goes quiet or aghast.

Biggest reason: the warnings not to condemn the activities of the Temple when it is re-established…for all the reasons you pointed out in the article regarding the 3rd Temple. Heightened in the warning is not to condemn the actual Temple nor the animal sacrifices as it was prophesied. Being Judeo-Christian (Messianic by practice but Christian by foundation) it seems possible that there could be criticism by Christians and fears of reprisals by Jews – but it is also the time when we must be ever-vigilant to discern all acts as being based in Scripture plus the movement of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit).

If anything this is a time when the faithful should be able to come together and discover deeper meaning to the will of God. I run an internet radio facility and am always open to discuss spiritual matters as part of my Public Affairs programming, based in Texas. Let me know how to contact you should there be an interest.

Blessings in Yeshua.

Hey Tim Harry Gates here. My wife connected me with you many years ago. I’m a recovering alcoholic and been sober now for over 4 years. Thank you LORD! Got sober back in 92 till 98 then went back our for 15 years. Thank the LORD He never left me and had open arms when I his prodigal son returned. Just wanted to let you know that I turned 59 on the 23rd of September, so that’s probably why people are thinking it’s the end of times. HA HA! I probably shouldn’t still be alive today, but the LORD still has work for me to accomplish for Him. I tell people who believe anything they read on the internet not to believe it and to go to your site. I’m not the greatest of the LORD’S servants, but all I can do is try to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and try to do the right thing. The rest the LORD forgives me for. Well keep up the good work and God Bless you brother.
